"May 08 Blizzard" Hits the Mid-West BPCR Championships

The pictures above show the Hoffland Range during the May 3 and 4 Mid-West BPCR Championship. The blizzard started Thursday night and was bad all day Friday with winds up to 60 miles an hour and snow most of the day. Schools in Alliance and most of the Panhandle and into South Dakota were closed. Many of the area highways were closed on Friday. So the shooters had quite an adventure getting to this match. The road into the Hoffland gate was snowed in and a detour had to be made through a fence.
But what a difference a day can make! Check out the two pictures below and see the conditions on Saturday and Sunday. The temperature was almost 70 by Sunday. The first day there were 46 shooters and on Sunday 52 shooters went through the match. There were shooters from nine states--Louisiana, South Dakota, Wyoming, North Dakota, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Montana and Nebraska.
