Grant Report
Have received another grant from FNRA
Fiebig Range
Need to be shut down for dirt work. Backstop is almost totally shot out. Wondered about opening Hoffland Range, call Steve Lickliter to let people get into Hoffland to shoot. We will reimburse him for fuel, also need to track hours for work there and at Fiebig for our in kind. Please call Vickie with hours. Need to have most of the work done by July 31 for last years' grants. Pheasants has said we can use their planter to plant grass. Guy & Ken Woods were out and flagged the range. We do not know when we will close the range, depends when Ken gets out there to do the work. We will put a sign out that the range is closed, call Steve Lickliter for shooting.
Old Business
Steve Henkel talked to Cleary about a storage building, they have a special going until end of March. With the construction at this time this would be put on hold until maybe next year. We will probably do a pole shed for the storage.
Open Floor For Discussion
Royce (as presented by Pauline) is requesting some work to be done on some of the Juniors rifles. Suggestion was to take them to Antioch Machine. There are 5 juniors this year. Also wants to do something this summer for the juniors. Wants to have the club buy 12 and 20 gauge for this program, one case each. Also wants another case of 22 for the juniors. He does not have a new place to shoot next year, so hesitating to purchase that if they don't have place to shoot. Jack said that he would have the shells if they could get the kids to commit. Dustin said Game & Parks could donate 1000 rounds of 22. Seems that they finish up the junior season end of March, so they may have enough for the season.
Jack said that we need to think about target stands for FiebigRange. When we reopen we want something there. Steve Lickliter said that the only problem is that steel really ricochets. Maybe we should look at something like at Hoffland, in the ground. PVC would work also. There are target frames for the pipes in the ground. Some members bring their own target frames out.
We will have a work day as soon as the 100 and 200 berms at Fiebig Range are completed to construct and install target holders.
